Integrate Your Supply Chain in the Cloud

Trade fair strives to help shape the future of logistics

From 10 to 11 November 2021, ICT & Logistics hosted its first trade fair in two years at the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht—and SEEBURGER was there! We joined nearly 6,000 supply chain logistics and IT professionals to exchange ideas on ever-increasing integration requirements, and the growing trend of using Cloud Services to connect the core processes of the Supply Chain.

As one of the largest logistics events in the Netherlands, ICT & Logistics is dedicated to helping companies share knowledge and gain insights into the transport sector’s information and communication technologies. This year’s theme “Resilient Logistics: agility and connectivity” captures the resolve to create a resilient logistics sector that is ready for the future, because while most logistics companies at the conference understood the importance of data and digital transformation, they are not moving fast enough[1].

The event attracts not only logistic service providers (LSPs, 3PLs) and related service and software providers, but also shippers and end-users. One thing these parties have in common is the need for integration – aligning processes between the various internally used systems, such as TMS, WMS and ERP, as well as with the outside world (e.g. clients, various transports and management portals).

Along with many attendees, we also spoke with several of the 150 exhibitors who are also searching for ways to improve their integration capabilities. They need solutions to enable integration of warehouses in different locations, integration of machines via IoT, and the ability to enable real-time integration with APIs.

This was SEEBURGER’s 12th time attending this event. This year, we are appreciative that we had the opportunity to meet with our customers and new contacts at this important event. We welcomed many visitors to our stand to update them on new developments in the sector, and how SEEBURGER Integration can accelerate the digitization of the supply chain and logistics processes with EDI/B2B and API management.

We are pleased to announce that during the event, we signed a new agreement with Rotterdam Harbour Holding, which offers Human Resource, Facility, and IT services for LSPs in the Port of Rotterdam, to provide them with API Integration and API Management solutions.

Optimize Your Supply Chain in the Cloud

“Supply chain threats will remain one of the most serious issues global businesses will face in 2022[2].” So what does this mean for the future of logistics? “Technology holds the key to future success[3]” and will play an increasingly greater role in transport and logistics operations in 2022.

In eight theaters at the event, sessions on supply chain management, data, digitalization, warehouse management and sustainability attracted large audiences eager to acquire information about the future of logistics technology for their organization. Indeed, according to Forbes, “To compete in this new world order, businesses with core logistics must multiply their investments in logistics tech.[4]

Both LSPs and their customers need solutions for the real‑time availability of goods for their customers, such as an agile, reliable, secure integration platform that they can manage in the cloud or on-premises. With our cloud‑ready hybrid integration platform, SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite (BIS), we help logistics companies standardize and automate their processes with unlimited connectivity and centralized control of the flow of all data and goods across the global supply chain.
